Back to the Coast: A New Chapter Rooted in Family

In May 2022, my family and I packed up our life in Oregon and made the cross-country move back to the East Coast. It happened faster than we anticipated. We had built a beautiful life out West—careers we loved, deep friendships, favorite wineries, and hiking trails that felt like home. But after our first son was born, the pull to be closer to family became undeniable. We needed our village—and we wanted our son to grow up surrounded by it.

The move brought us to the New Hampshire seacoast, where my husband returned to his roots—quite literally. He helps manage the family business, Atlantic Breeze Suites, a boutique hotel just steps from the beach. He was actually the very first employee when the hotel opened in 2008. Today, it's a full family affair: my mother-in-law is the owner and operator, my brother-in-law co-manages, my sister-in-law jumps in when needed, and I lead the marketing efforts behind the scenes. Our boys already love visiting “Dada at work” and will likely have their first summer jobs folding towels or manning the front desk someday.

There’s something really special about building a business alongside family—especially one that’s been such a fixture in the local community. It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it.

If you ever find yourself dreaming of a New England beach escape, come visit us at Atlantic Breeze Suites. We’d love to welcome you.
